I ordered this lens based on many reviews on the internet. I tested this lens for 2 weeks under many different conditions like stills, actions, nearby and where I purchased the lens for the awesome telezoom reach. What to expect from a lens with a weight of 2 kg and this size. Well you'd expect to have many blurred images due to the weight on it's very long range of 600 mm. Also you think to set your camera to high ISO and poor shutter speed settings to get sharp results. This lens provides very great images even with normal settings like 1/200 sec on 600 mm range with IS set to 1. I even took a very sharp image on 600 mm with the IS set to 1 and the shutter speed set to 1/20 sec. On the 600 mm range the image is pretty stable when you hand held your set. When IS is turned on, the lens needs about 1 sec to get it going but you don't see it as a result that it is functioning but when the image is taken you know it functions and it does it job very well. Even tried the IS on position 2 and it run pretty good. The range switch is awesome, when you switch it to "10 m to infinity" the lens is very fast on focusing even under poor conditions it runs smoothly and I get the lens in hunting mode only once as the contrast was very low. The weight of the lens is in your favor as it is very steady when hand hold. I carried it for a few hours a day and in the beginning it's "heavy" but you'll get used to it. Conclusion a very great lens I don't regret I bought it.
